Windows 3.1 Download

Before you can run Model ChemLab with Windows 3.1 you must first install a Microsoft utility called Win32s on your computer.

Please perform the following steps:

Downloading Win32s and Model ChemLab

• Using the File Manager make a temporary directory on your computer called C:\INSTALL
• Download the file PW1118.EXE to this directory by clicking here
• Using the File Manager make a directory called C:\CHEMLAB
• Download the file CHEM12A.EXE (571KB) to this directory by clicking here

You may now install Win32s and Model ChemLab:

• Close your Web Browser and all other applications except the File Manager
• Locate PW1118.EXE in the C:\INSTALL directory with the File Manager
• Double-click on PW1118.EXE to extract SETUP.EXE and other Win32s files
• Double-click on SETUP.EXE to perform the Win32s installation process
• From the DOS prompt, go to the C:\CHEMLAB directory
• Enter chem12a -sPASSWORD, substituting "PASSWORD" with the password you were given (Note: do not put a space after the -s)
• Once the files have been installed you can return to Windows (e.g. type EXIT)
• From the Program Manager, you double-click on CHEMLAB.EXE in the C:\CHEMLAB directory to run the Model ChemLab program
